Lynette Noni is the author of this dystopian fantasy masterpiece. It’s set in Medora, a world that once was exactly like Earth but both planets evolved at different speeds in different ways.
Alex; a young teenager from Earth opens a doorway into Medora and stumbles upon Bear and Jordan, two students at Akarnae Academy for gifted people. Basically people with magic powers. Alex has no choice but to go with them to the academy, but what will happen to her there?
She doesn’t have a gift or amazing skills but soon Alex will have her hands full of hard-core classes. Will she sink or swim?
“Literature may increase one’s depth of knowledge, but not all knowledge be found in literature. Only with practical experience can one truly learn and thus be considered knowledgeable.”
Sir Camden – Akarnae
Akarnae is an amazing book, a must-read that adds an entirely new spin on travelling between worlds. When I was reading the book I was in the story, I was scared, happy and could imagine the pain the characters were going through, during the story. It has a beautiful story of friendship and finding your self.
Read Akarnae and the rest of the Medoran Chronicles to find out what happens to Alexandra Jennings.
You would not believe the number of times I’ve read this series, so glad to see a review that does it justice! If you’re looking for more Lynette Noni, read Whisper and its sequel, as well as the Prison Healer series which comes out next year.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. Will check them out soon!!
Am reading this book right now! Awesome review 🙂
